Welcome to The Hagwon, an online education platform (“Site”) operated by Bethesda E&C, Inc. ("Bethesda E&C," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our Site and services (“Services”). By accessing or using our Site or Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these Terms, you may not access or use our Services. All materials on this Site are protected by applicable copyright and trademark law.
“The Hagwon” and “Vocability” are trademarks of Bethesda E&C, Inc. registered in the United States and/or other jurisdictions. Unauthorized use of these trademarks is strictly prohibited.
Eligibility
In compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and relevant Korean regulations, The Hagwon does not permit children under 13 years of age to register or use paid Services without verifiable parental or guardian consent. By using our Site or Services, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years of age or have obtained valid parental or guardian consent to use the Services. The Site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from such individuals.
Account Registration and Security
To access certain features of the Services, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to maintain and promptly update such information as necessary.
You are solely responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activities conducted under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or use of your account.
Bethesda E&C reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend, restrict, or terminate your account, deny service, or remove content at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including violation of these Terms.
Description of Services (Mission SAT)
Mission SAT is a comprehensive digital SAT preparation platform designed to provide users with structured, data-driven tools to support end-to-end SAT preparation.
Upon purchase, users are granted access to the Mission SAT platform for a fixed period of two (2) years. This includes access to all platform features available at the time of purchase as well as any updates or enhancements introduced during the access period.
Mission SAT includes, but is not limited to, the following components:
- SAT Question Bank, allowing users to generate targeted practice questions based on section and skill type.
- Practice Tests, which simulate the structure and experience of the digital SAT exam.
- Missions, a guided, adaptive study plan designed to lead users through a structured progression of SAT preparation tasks.
- Progress Tracking, providing detailed analytics, performance metrics, and insights into user strengths and weaknesses.
- Vocability, a proprietary vocabulary learning tool featuring curated word lists delivered through flashcards, quizzes, and structured learning chapters.
All features are included as part of a single digital product. Bethesda E&C reserves the right to modify, enhance, replace, or discontinue specific features at any time without prior notice, provided that the overall functionality of the Service is maintained.
Access Term and Expiration
Upon successful completion of payment, you will be granted access to the Services for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase.
Access will automatically terminate at the end of this period without renewal unless a new purchase is made.
You acknowledge that failure to use the Service during the access period does not entitle you to any refund, extension, or credit, except as required by applicable law or expressly stated in our Refund Policy.
Use License and Restrictions
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Bethesda E&C grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable license to access and use the Services solely for personal, non-commercial educational purposes.
You expressly agree that you will not:
- Copy, reproduce, distribute, publish, or commercially exploit any content from the Services.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive source code or underlying algorithms.
- Share, sell, lease, transfer, or sublicense your account or access credentials.
- Use automated systems such as bots, scrapers, or scripts to access or extract data.
- Circumvent or attempt to bypass any security or access control mechanisms.
- Use the Services to develop competing products or services.
Any violation of this section may result in immediate termination of access without refund and may subject you to civil or criminal liability.
Intellectual Property Rights
All content, including but not limited to text, graphics, user interfaces, question sets, educational materials, software, algorithms, workflows, and platform design, is the exclusive property of Bethesda E&C or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Our intellectual property is protected by laws and regulations in multiple jurisdictions, including but not limited to the United States, the Republic of Korea, and applicable international copyright treaties and conventions.
No rights are granted to you except for the limited license expressly set forth in these Terms. Any unauthorized use, reproduction, modification, distribution, or creation of derivative works is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action in one or more applicable jurisdictions.
Third-Party Content and External References
The Services may contain links to or references from third-party websites, resources, or content. Bethesda E&C does not own, control, or endorse such third-party content and does not claim any intellectual property rights over it.
All third-party content is provided solely for informational and reference purposes. Your use of such content is governed by the terms and policies of the respective third-party provider. Bethesda E&C disclaims all responsibility and liability arising from your use of any third-party content.
User-Generated Content
If you upload, submit, or otherwise provide content through the Services (“User Content”), you represent that you have the necessary rights to do so.
You grant Bethesda E&C a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and display such content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Services.
We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to monitor, review, or remove User Content at our discretion.
User Conduct Policy
You agree not to:
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Share or allow unauthorized access to your account
• Provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Services
• Upload or distribute malware or harmful code
• Engage in harassment, abuse, or harmful conduct toward others
Violation of this policy may result in suspension or termination of your account without refund.

Payment and Pricing
Access to Mission SAT requires a one-time payment. You agree to provide accurate and complete billing information and authorize Bethesda E&C or its third-party payment processors to charge your selected payment method.
Price Changes
Bethesda E&C reserves the right to change pricing at any time. Any such changes will apply only to future purchases.
Once a purchase has been completed, you will not be charged additional amounts if the price increases, nor will you be entitled to any refund, credit, or adjustment if the price decreases.
Free Trial
We may offer a one-time free trial of the Services for a period of three (3) days. To access the free trial, you must provide valid payment information.
By initiating a free trial, you expressly authorize Bethesda E&C to automatically charge the full product fee to your designated payment method immediately upon expiration of the trial period unless you cancel prior to the end of the trial.
The free trial is limited to one per user and may not be duplicated, transferred, or reused. Bethesda E&C reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the free trial offer at any time without prior notice.
Refund Policy

By purchasing Mission SAT or initiating a free trial that converts to a paid purchase, you expressly agree to the terms of the Refund Policy, including the seventy-two (72) hour limitation on refund eligibility.
No refunds will be issued except as expressly provided in the Refund Policy. Bethesda E&C reserves the right to deny refund requests in cases of misuse, abuse, or violation of these Terms.
Availability and Modifications to the Service
We strive to maintain reliable access to the Services but do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Services at any time.
If the Services are permanently discontinued before the end of your access period, we will provide a prorated refund where required by applicable law.
Disclaimers and Warranties
The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Bethesda E&C disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee any specific test scores, improvements, or academic outcomes.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bethesda E&C shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
Our total liability shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the Services.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bethesda E&C from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Services or violation of these Terms.
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board (KCAB) in Seoul.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, we reserve the right to pursue legal action in any jurisdiction for intellectual property infringement or misuse of the Services.
Violations may subject you to liability under laws in multiple jurisdictions, including the United States. You waive the right to participate in class actions.
Assignment
You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them freely.
Severability and Waiver
If any provision is invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement.

The Hagwon Refund Policy
What types of products are eligible for a refund?
Premium Subscriptions: No refunds or credits will be issued, granted or provided for unused days after initial purchase of a Premium Subscription. For information on subscription cancellations, please refer to Section 10 of our Terms of Use.
Study Bundles (“Bundles”): Bundles purchased through The Hagwon website can be eligible for a refund, as long as refund eligibility requirements are met. Refund eligibility requirements are detailed below.
What are the refund eligibility requirements? When are products eligible for a refund?
After purchasing a bundle, if all of the corresponding tests and courses in the respective bundle have not been added within 72 hours after purchase, then the entire bundle is eligible for a 100% refund.
A test or course is added to your account once you click the “Start Test” button for the respective test or course within your “My Dashboard”.
If at least one or more tests or courses in a bundle have been added, then the entire corresponding package or bundle is no longer eligible for a refund.
If none of the tests or courses in the bundle have been added but 72 hours have passed after purchase, then the entire package or bundle is no longer eligible for a refund.
The Hagwon website and Bethesda E&C hold final authority for determining whether a purchased bundle is eligible for a refund.
How do I request a refund?

- Email address associated with your account
- Name of product, package, or bundle purchased that you wish to be refunded
- Receipt number for the purchase of the package or bundle (if available)
